The municipality of Mammoth Lakes, located 485 km east of Los Angeles, has received 450 cm of snow since Christmas.

If we list the accumulations since the beginning of November, it is nearly 838 centimeters that fell on the municipality of 7200 inhabitants.

The city located at some 2400 meters above sea level is accustomed to winter weather and records an average of 450 cm of solid precipitation annually.

On social media, residents and tourists present in the region shared some pictures of the imposing snowbanks.

The Mammoth ski resort even had to close its doors on January 10 due to too much snow accumulation.

The snow has not stopped falling on the region, while another meter of accumulation is expected in the next three days.

In the western regions of the state, it is rather the rain that will hold the attention, while the authorities fear new floods.
