497 positive cases of covid-19 are registered in the country

Venezuela confirmed this Sunday 497 new positive cases of coronavirus, to raise to 119,803 those infected by the outbreak, said the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado.

He explained that 488 cases are of community transmission and nine are imported, from Mexico and that they entered through the state of La Guaira.

The most affected entity is the Capital District with 110 new cases, followed by Miranda with 100 and Zulia with 95.

Cases were also detected in the states Carabobo with 84, Aragua with 36, La Guaira 22, Barinas 20, Mérida 7, Yaracuy 5, Sucre 4, Falcón 2, Monagas 2, Lara 1.

Similarly, the death of five people was announced to bring the number of fatalities from the outbreak to 1,106.

On the other hand, in the last 24 hours, 380 patients have been discharged, which represents 94% of the cases.

Nine entities register rise in cases of covid-19

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, indicated this Sunday that a total of nine entities in Venezuela registered an upward trend in positive cases due to covid-1.9 this week.

The Venezuelan head of state explained that the entities that registered increases are: Capital District, Apure, Mérida, Miranda, Nueva Esparta, Táchira, Trujillo, Yaracuy and Zulia.

To date, the National President explained, “Venezuela registers 5,695 active cases. In the last week we have maintained an average of 5,320 cases, 456 new cases and 350 recovered per day ”.

In this sense, he pointed out that the entities with the highest number of cases are Zulia 1,051, Capital District 969, Miranda 958, Yaracuy 507, Lara 421, Táchira 354, Mérida 287 and Carabobo 259.

For the month of November, indicated the Venezuelan president; 14 cases were active per 100,000 inhabitants, however, since December and with the first weeks of January, Venezuela maintains 17 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Similarly, he stressed that 13 entities maintain a stable trend, as is the case of Amazonas, Anzoátegui, Aragua, Barinas Bolívar, Carabobo, Delta Amacuro, Falcón, Guárico, Lara, Monagas, Portuguesa and Sucre.

For their part, the states of La Guaira and Cojedes registered a slight decrease in cases.

Given this, President Nicolás Maduro urged society to take care of itself, maintain biosecurity measures and comply with the radical quarantine, which begins this Monday throughout the national territory, AVN published.
