The gaming industry has several colossal companies, with an eternal dispute that never seems to present a definitive winner. Arkane Studios

Led by the legendary Hidetaka Miyazaki, FromSoftware is one of the giants of the industry today, accumulating extremely competent works and reigning in the souslike genre. With Demon’s Souls, Miyazaki introduced the world to what would become one of the greatest genres of our time, with a huge legion of fans, and now the creator continues to make history at the helm of FromSoftware.
In its track record, the studio has a long list of hits, with many titles extremely well received by both players and critics, always delivering challenging and ruthless journeys. With Cory Barlog in charge of the project, God of War (2018) arrived to modify the saga completely, delivering a new proposal for the franchise. Embracing RPG elements, going through a total combat overhaul and delivering a matured and more controlled Kratos, the title won the best game of 2018 award.
In 2022, Santa Monica released God of War: Ragnarok, the long-awaited sequel to Kratos and Atreus’ journey, again displaying a very high technical level. With the title, the developer again accumulated great grades, nominations and awards.
Insomniac Games
Also belonging to Sony, Insomniac Games is a studio that has shown a lot of competence in everything it has delivered in recent years. In 2016, the team delivered the great and extremely fun “Ratchet & Clank”, proving that they knew how to exploit the potential of the PlayStation 4 with relative ease.
In 2018, the studio offered players a completely different project, taking on the responsibility of running the game from an extremely iconic character. Marvel’s Spider-Man hit the market to critical acclaim and was very well received by gamers.
With Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, in 2021, Insomniac Games again showed that it knows exactly how to use Sony’s consoles, with its title serving to show the full potential that the PS5 can achieve. The company even released Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, a smaller game that set the stage for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which will be released in late 2023.
