Images of a crashed Tesla Model 3 were broadcast on (formerly Twitter) by the Ontario Provincial Police Traffic Safety Division (formerly Twitter) by the Ontario Provincial Police Traffic Safety Division, along with a statement that the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital and arrested for impaired driving (driving under influence). The photos, posted below, show the complete destruction of the red Tesla Model 3, with the front crumple zone appearing to have done its job of protecting the driver.

Apparently, the Tesla Model 3 first crashed into the concrete barriers before being hit from behind by a large transport truck which, as can be seen in the image in question, ended up leaving the highway while being seriously damaged. Among the comments, one states that it is thanks to Tesla that the driver is alive, while another proclaims that “the guy is still alive because he was in a Tesla. N “any other car and that kind of impact would have crushed it” It was not stated if Autopilot was in use at that time.

Tesla called the Tesla Model 3 “the safest car ever built” and used its 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in promoting the car in 2018. The “lowest likelihood of injury of any vehicle ever tested by NHTSA” claim used by Tesla was considered controversial by federal agencies because it was considered potentially misleading or even inaccurate.

Despite this, it is clear that this particular Tesla Model 3 has successfully protected the driver, even if it is left in pieces. There Tesla Model 3 was designed to reduce the risk of dangerous rollovers in the event of an accident, with the battery and motors placed low to the ground, giving the vehicle a low center of gravity. Additionally, the energy created during an impact is diverted from the cabin while airbags deploy for additional protection.
