In view of the approaching summer months, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Coordination Office (EAK) warns that technical devices should also be protected from direct sunlight – especially the lithium batteries in smartphones, tablets or laptops. The approximately 250,000 e-bikes that, according to the EAK, were sold in Austria in 2022 alone are also powered by these powerful batteries. Vehicles should never be loaded unattended.
