5-year prison sentence for blackmailing an Egyptian with explicit photos and videos

Contrary to what is usual in cases of electronic extortion, a girl blackmailed a young man with explicit photos and videos in exchange for a sum of money and did not publish them on the communication sites.

In the details, a young man reported to the security services in Abdeen, Cairo governorate, that he had been blackmailed by a girl and two other people, who asked him for a large sum of money in exchange for not publishing personal photos and clips of him.

Investigations by the security services revealed that unemployed people agreed with a girl to lure the young man and establish a relationship with him and photograph him through his phone, and sent the pictures to their partners to blackmail him and obtain a sum of money in exchange for not publishing the pictures.

For their part, the security services arrested the girl and her accomplices, confronted them with the report of the young man, confessed to their crime, issued a report on the incident and referred them to the Public Prosecution for investigation.

The prosecution ordered their referral to the Cairo Criminal Court, which sentenced the girl and the two unemployed youths to 5 years in prison, on charges of extorting the young man through explicit pictures in exchange for a sum of money from him, for not publishing them on social media.
