BEIJING – In the last 10 years, the Chinese Communist Party has subjected 50 lakh party members to ‘corruption inspections’. A criminal case was registered against 553 people. Xiao Pei, Deputy Secretary of the Disciplinary and Inspection Committee, said while talking to the media at the party congress venue that more than 2 lakh party officials were subjected to various punishments during this period.
