Regarding the recent complaints made by the media about the diversion of 500,000 million pesos that would be allocated for the implementation of the peace agreement in the 170 PDET municipalities; the former presidential adviser for stabilization and consolidation, Emilio Archilastated in an interview for Caracol Radio that I wasn’t sure where this value came from.
“As far as my duties are concerned, I did what I was supposed to do. Now, once the resources are approved in the OCAD-PEACEare delivered to the municipalities and it is these territories, which must make this investment… I am not sure where they get the figure of 500,000 million pesosArchila said.
He affirmed that the country through different sources has obtained investments for that 170 municipalities that had never been seen “at this moment, there are investments for more than 13 billion and a half, that is much more than the first line of the Bogotá metro is worth. So it is a management of which the National governmentgovernors and mayors should feel proud”.
The former counselor said that at the time he had this position, did much more than his fair share and even went further by denouncing some officials who are implicated in this corruption scandal.
“We received a complaint that implicated who acted as secretary of the OCAD-PAZ and what they said is that in a previous stage, before it came to the consideration of the 3 membersthat would be happening kind of toll. we went furtherI asked the DPN that those who were being questioned be removed from their duties and that is what happened.”
What Archila refers to when he talks about “the 3 members” is the last stage to which these investment projects passed, the so-called “study stage”. At this stage there was a representative of the mayors, one of the governors and the same councilor in which they exercised functions collegiately.
In a previous statement that the former counselor shared, it is read that this type of project they did not reach the instance where he was. That means that Wouldn’t he be responsible for the people he was in charge of?
“Those people were not in charge of me. The OCAD-PAZ is not an instance that depends on the council. In the meantime, he affirmed that the authorities are the ones that should be in charge of this issue and in his statement he added that “I am pleased that the country has now turned its attention to this matter, for which, once again, I offer all the information that was and is within my reach and that it can serve so that there is truth and justice”.
