Muddy water continues to overflow and fill up the road.

The water level of Musimcheon Stream, which runs through downtown Cheongju, has been lowered with the brightening of the day, but some of the low-lying areas next to Musimcheon are still submerged.

During the night, 53mm of heavy rain fell per hour, causing flood damage in various parts of Cheongju, including Bokdae-dong, Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Citizens went out into the streets, rolled up their arms, and even stayed up all night waking up to scoop out water.

As the day dawns, reports of additional damage such as flooding of farmhouses are coming in one after another.

About 110 reports of rain damage were received from 119 from around the time of work yesterday until the morning.

In Chungcheongbuk-do, heavy rain warnings have been issued for six cities and counties, including Cheongju and Jincheon, and heavy rain advisories have been issued for the remaining five cities and counties.

The amount of rain that has fallen so far has been recorded at 327mm in Jecheon Baekun, 269 in Cheongju, 244 in Goesan, and 251mm in Yeongchun, Danyang.

The entire 6.5km section of the Hasang Road is under full control, and the flood warning issued at the nearby Heungdeok Bridge has been lifted.

Like Musimcheon, a flood warning has been issued at the Mokdogyo Bridge in Dalcheon, just below the Goesan Dam.

Currently, the water level at Chungju Dam is 136.6m, which is about 1.4m close to the water limit during the flood season.

Today, in the Chungbuk area, up to 100mm of rain is forecasted until tomorrow, mainly in the southern regions such as Yeongdong and Okcheon, and strong rain of up to 50mm per hour in the afternoon is forecast.

The landslide crisis warning has also been upgraded to the alert level, so special attention is required.
