The president of the party our common values spoke, this Wednesday, May 3, 2023, on the political situation of the country. Étienne Soropogui focused on the budget for the return to constitutional order presented by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Mory Condé.

Regarding the level of execution of the electoral timetable, Etienne Soropogui denies the words of the minister. “Only he sees that his progress. Absolutely nothing is progressing with regard to the timetable for the return to constitutional order,” he said.

And to add: “I heard about almost 6 trillion, it looks like a ransom but not a budget. It’s like a gangster who grabs a hostage and says to get him back you have to pay so much. When you organize a presidential election in Guinea, you find yourself around 50 million Usd and this cost is when you want to start from scratch. This amount is really derisory,” he mentioned Etienne Soropogui in the Mirador program on Fim Fm radio.

In addition, the political leader returned to the withdrawal of the living forces from negotiations with the government. “We talked and in the end it didn’t work. I know that the people of Guinea today understand that we have made the maximum of efforts, we have sufficiently shown our good faith to find a peaceful solution for our country, unfortunately, this has not been the case. The conclusion that must be drawn from this is that it is inadmissible for us to discuss with any actor. That’s over. Because if the religious weren’t able, people we respect, who were committed to working to put us together, they couldn’t then with a local actor it’s over. Because it’s no use. So, if we have to go from now on to the framework of dialogue with this government, it must be done directly with our partners from ECOWAS and the G5”, suggested the leader of Our Common Values.
