60-year-old skier dies on the slopes

On Saturday February 5 around 9:30 a.m., a skier lost his life in the Portes du Soleil ski area in Champéry – Les Crosets. As he descended the Ripaille slope, the man fell before coming to a stop at the edge of the slope, near the ski lifts.

The 60-year-old Vaudois died on the spot, despite the rapid intervention of rescuers who provided first aid.

The reasons for the fall are yet to be determined. The Public Prosecutor has opened an investigation.
