65-year-old died in a skiing accident in Salzburg – serious tobogganing accident in Tyrol

A 65-year-old man died in a skiing accident in the Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area in Salzburg on Saturday. The man from Salzburg jumped over the edge of the terrain and collided with a 63-year-old German. The collision caused both men to fall and slide about 50 meters down the runway.

The 65-year-old later died in the hospital, the 63-year-old was injured in the collision, according to the police.

First aid without success

Subsequent skiers had provided first aid and informed the piste rescue service and the police. After that, both skiers were flown to the Schwarzach Clinic in a rescue helicopter. There the Salzburger succumbed to his injuries.

The ski equipment of the two parties involved was secured and the Salzburg public prosecutor ordered an autopsy of the deceased.

With toboggan against standers of an underpass

A serious tobogganing accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in Berwang in the Ausserfern region of Tyrol. According to the police, a 37-year-old German drove with his 6-year-old son on the “Bärenritt” toboggan run from the Jägerhaus in the direction of the “Egghof Sunjet” valley station. Shortly before an underpass in the middle of the track, the two went off the track and drove straight onto a padded underpass post. The two seriously injured were flown to the Innsbruck clinic.
