7 fruits that get rid of annoying flatulence

If you can’t stand the annoying bloating anymore, you can eat one of seven fruits recommended by Florida gastroenterologist Joseph Salhab, to relieve pressure on the abdomen.

Dr. Salhab suggests eating blueberries, dates, figs, kiwi, guava, papaya, and pineapple to soothe a tight, full belly.

In a TikTok video that has garnered more than 47,700 views this week, Dr. Salhab pointed to a 2022 study that found that vitamin C increases levels of Bifidobacterium, which helps restore the natural balance of gut bacteria, reduces bouts of diarrhea, protects against unwanted bacteria, and aids in digestion and absorption of vitamins and nutrients. Gut bacteria are known to help digest fiber, absorb nutrients, and boost immunity.

“One way to improve gut health is to eat more high-fiber foods with vitamin C,” explains the doctor. “This has been shown to increase good gut bacteria for optimal digestive health.”

People with IBS are suggested to slowly test their tolerance to these seven foods because the fructose in fruit can trigger IBS symptoms.
