The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) canceled, this Monday (16/1), the authorizations for the manufacture of seven hair styling ointments for not complying with health standards.
Some of the products had even been subject to restrictive measures on marketing and use. With the new resolutionpublished on Friday (1/13), the products can no longer be manufactured.
The decision was taken a week after Anvisa decided to withdraw products manufactured by Microfarma Indústria e Comércio Ltda. from the market. More than 200 notifications of cases of temporary blindness and eye burns were registered in Rio de Janeiro after using the Cassu Braids ointment, manufactured by the company.

On January 7, Anvisa published a resolution to withdraw Cassu Braids hair styling ointment and other products manufactured by Microfarma Indústria e Comércio Ltda. It was decided that the company should collect all items available on the market.
Consumers who have products manufactured by Microfarma must contact the company to verify the best way to return them. If you have recently used any of the brand’s ointments, be careful when washing your hair, so that the product does not come into contact with your eyes.
