70 seconds is the price of 70 years… 5 convicts were imprisoned after “the rudest theft”

A British court sentenced 5 thieves to more than 70 years in prison, after convicting them of a theft that took place in broad daylight on a street and in front of passers-by who documented the crime.

The British Daily Mail reported on its website, Tuesday, that the five convicts committed a robbery that targeted a jewelry store in Birmingham, central Britain, in early March of last year.

The operation took only 70 seconds, and ended with the theft of jewelry, the size of which was estimated at 5 kilograms of gold.

The thieves chose exactly midday to carry out the theft, as it took place at 12:22 noon.

According to a video filmed by a bystander at the time, a four-wheel-drive “pickup” smashed the front of the jewelry store, so that the distance thought that it was just an accident.

Soon, the thieves broke into the store and stole the jewellery, before escaping.

One of them intimidated passers-by with the intention of driving them away.

And so that no one would come to the rescue or hinder the store, the thieves blocked the roads leading to it with two cars that were placed in an accidental way.

The court in Birmingham found the robbers guilty of conspiracy to larceny and possession of offensive weapons, after a 4-week trial.

Under the ruling, those convicted will spend 72 years in prison.

Judge Roderick Henderson said in the sentencing hearing that the crime of theft was a court of planning and execution.
