The General Authority of Meteorology revealed the weather conditions and temperatures during the next 72 hours, and the expected weather conditions.
Meteorology said, according to a press release on Monday, that a state of unrest in weather conditions will prevail over the next 72 days, as temperatures will drop in all areas. Cold weather prevails during the day and very cold at night, and frost forms on crops in central Sinai and New Valley Governorate.
The Authority explained that the weather conditions during the next 72 hours will witness active winds in most areas. Which increases the feeling of cold weather.
She pointed out that the minimum temperatures for the new cities in Greater Cairo range from 8 to 9 degrees Celsius, and there are chances of snow forming on the peaks of St. Catherine Mountains, where the minimum temperature reaches less than zero degrees Celsius.
Meteorology added that, starting Wednesday, the country is witnessing rain of varying intensity in the north of the country, up to Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and Sinai.
Wednesday 14 February
Meteorology stated that the weather condition on Wednesday, February 14, will witness moderate rain, sometimes thundery, in areas of “Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, and Port Said.”
It indicated that there was light rain in areas of the Gulf of Suez, the Western Desert, and northern Upper Egypt, extending to areas of “southern Lower Egypt, the canal cities, Sinai, Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, and northern Upper Egypt.”
Thursday 15 February
Meteorology reported that the weather condition on Thursday, February 15, will witness moderate to heavy rain, which may be accompanied by hail, in areas of “Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said, and North Sinai.”
The authority completed that the weather condition is witnessing moderate rains, sometimes thunderstorms, in areas of southern Lower Egypt, the canal cities, the Gulf of Suez region, and Sinai, extending light to moderate rains in areas of Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.
Friday 16 February
Meteorology added that the weather condition on Friday will witness moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by hailstones, in areas of “Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said, and North Sinai.”
The authority explained that the weather condition is affected by light to moderate rain in areas of southern Lower Egypt, the canal cities, the Gulf of Suez region, Sinai, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt.
