Consumer spending in the United States on online shopping increased last Friday (Black Friday) by about 7.5 percent compared to last year, highlighting citizens’ search for the best deals at discounted prices, in light of continuing inflationary pressures.

An Adobe Analytics report showed that online spending in the United States rose during Black Friday to a record level of $9.8 billion.

It is worth noting that Adobe collects data through an analysis of one trillion visits to retail websites in the United States and 18 product categories, among others.

Vivek Pandya, an analyst at Adobe Digital Insights, said that impulsive purchases may have played a role in the growth of Black Friday sales, as $5.3 billion of sales made online were via mobile phones, noting that social media influencers Social media and have made it easier for consumers to spend comfortably through their devices.

The survey conducted by Adobe indicated that $79 million in sales were made through consumers choosing the flexible payment method, “Buy now, pay later,” in light of inflation and high interest rates.

As for the best-selling product categories, electronics had the largest share, including smart watches and televisions, as well as games.
