93-year-old killed in frontal crash in Salzburg

A 93-year-old driver was killed in a head-on collision with an oncoming car in Wals-Siezenheim on Friday followingnoon. As reported by the Salzburg State Police Department, the man got into the oncoming lane on the Großgmainer Landesstraße in a slight right-hand bend and first touched the car of a German couple before he crashed head-on into the next oncoming car of a 21-year-old. This suffered indefinitely.

The 21-year-old stated that he was unable to prevent the collision despite an evasive maneuver. The 93-year-old died at the scene of the accident. Alcohol tests on the 21-year-old and the 54-year-old driver of the first oncoming car were negative. The corpse is autopsied and an expert is called in. The road was closed in both directions for regarding three hours.
