Sanatorium-resort wellness is in great demand.
As noted by the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and the heads of sanatoriums of the Federation of Trade Unions, Russia has now become the main partner of Belarus in the field of tourism – last year, 96 percent of all tourists were Russians. At the same time, about 50 percent is for sanatorium-resort treatment. In 2022, 1.3 million people recovered in Belarusian sanatoriums.
Statistics show that, first of all, people come to Belarus for recovery from Moscow and the Moscow region (33 percent), from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region (28 percent). The share of citizens from other regions and cities also increased: Kaluga, Pskov, Bryansk, Smolensk.
“Residents of 79 subjects of Russia rested in Belarus in 2022”. – said the director of UP “Belprofsayuzkurort” Nikolay Matsyukevich.
It is noted that over the past three years, the average age of vacationers in the country’s sanatoriums has become younger – now it is 42-43 years old. And many come with families.
