At the request of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), the European criminal police agency Europol must erase billions of illegally collected personal data. In a press release published on Monday, the EDPS specifies that these are data concerning people who have no established link with criminal activities but whose information appears in the investigations carried out by the police services contributing to Europol.
