Avalanche ready to hit the US; Emergency in three places

Extreme levels of snow and ice are expected in the eastern part of the United States. Governors in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina have declared a state of emergency. Meteorologists said there would be massive power outages and difficult transportation. About 30 million people are at risk of this massive avalanche.

Experts say large ice deposits are likely to form in the Myrtle and Wellington areas of the Carolina state. According to the National Weather Service, the area is likely to be covered by inches of ice. Heavy damage to power lines and trees is estimated. Snow gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour are also expected in the region.

Schools in Carolina were closed and virtual learning was introduced. The National Guard has deployed troops to control the situation in North Carolina. Authorities are urging people not to go out with vehicles unnecessarily to avoid car accidents.

The incident led to power outages in the homes and establishments of 1.5 lakh users. As the snow piled up, car accidents increased. A severe cold wave has been hitting the US for the past few days.
