Under-19 Cricket World Cup: Australia defeats Pakistan in semi-finals

Antigua: Australia become the third team to reach the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup. Australia defeated Pakistan in the quarter-finals to reach the semi-finals.

Australia beat Pakistan by 119 runs. Australia lost the toss and opted to bat, scoring 276 in 50 overs. In reply, Pakistan were all out for just 157 runs. Score: Australia 276 for seven in 50 overs. Pakistan 157 for 35.1 overs.

Leading batsmen put in a good performance for Australia, who lost the toss and opted to bat. Opener Tig Wiley was the top scorer with 71 off 97 balls. Corey Miller (64) and opener Campbell Kella (47) were the standout performers. Skipper Qasim Akram took three wickets for Pakistan.

Batting first, Pakistan could not maintain their hopes of winning the match by 277 runs. Mehran Mumtaz was the top scorer for Pakistan with 29 runs. William Salzman took three wickets for Australia.

In the semi-finals, Australia will face either India or defending champions Bangladesh. England will face Afghanistan in the first semi.
