On the occasion of the International Epilepsy Day which takes place on February 14, we take stock of this neurological disorder that results in seizures, caused by a transient dysfunction of brain nerve cells.

Epilepsy is the second most common chronic neurological disease, following migraine. According to the WHO, it affects almost 50 million people worldwide and affects all age groups. Epilepsy can be treated in 70% of cases, but sufferers and their families may face stigma.
