A statement from the trade regarding what is being raised about the practices of car agencies in selling new cars to exhibitions and delaying the delivery of consumer orders

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Ministry of Commerce clarified that it is investigating what is being raised regarding car agencies giving preference to selling new cars to car showrooms and dealers, and delaying consumer delivery of their orders and reservations on the pretext that they did not arrive.

The trade indicated that it is currently working on investigating the practices of car agencies, reviewing their sales and stock, monitoring the numbers of new cars in car showrooms and knowing their sources, and verifying the number of cars sold by agents to dealers of showrooms and comparing them with the number of cars sold directly to consumers, and consumer reservations records will be reviewed and verified. Agents are obligated to deliver them on time.

The ministry stressed that it will apply deterrent penalties to violating agencies, if any, stressing that priority will be given to consumer requests.
