NEW YORK (Archyde.com) – Wall Street stocks fell at the open on Tuesday as investors waited to see whether earnings from major tech companies this week would support a market dominated by worries about rising inflation and slowing global growth. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 142 points, or 0.42 percent, to 33907.49 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened, down 18 points, or 0.42 percent, to 4278.14 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 86.8 points, or 0.67 percent, to 12,918.039 points.
