Can we save the rescue mechanism? The question is addressed to Simonetta Sommaruga, Minister of Energy. His aid plan for electricity suppliers is being pounded in consultation by the first interested parties, and by the majority of political parties. In question: the three companies concerned “of systemic importance” (Alpiq, Axpo and BKW) would be obliged to subject themselves, and the Federal Council would require far too much information to grant its financial support. As a result, the project is very likely to be reviewed, we hear in Bern, and it is not certain that it can be adopted urgently during the June session of parliament.
