At least five people were shot Tuesday morning at a subway station in Brooklyn, Nueva YorkThe city’s fire department reported.

No report of Mexicans dead after shooting
The consul general of Mexico in New York, Jorge Islas, reported that there are no reports of Mexicans dead after the shooting at the subway station in New York.
Through Twitter, the official had indicated that it is being investigated whether there were Mexicans affected in the shooting, since there are a large number of nationals near Sunset Park.

Subway service suspended in New York and alert for delays
The subway authority indicated that service was suspended on three subway lines (D, N and R) in Brooklyn and in some points in Manhattan, so trains on those lines and others are experiencing delays.

No active explosive devices: NYPD
The New York Police Department reported that no active explosive devices had been found to date and asked witnesses to provide information in this regard.

“It was crazy”: witness
The incident occurred on a subway route that runs through South Brooklyn, about 15 minutes from Manhattan. Schools in the area closed upon learning of the incident..
Danny Mastrogiorgio, a Brooklyn resident, had dropped his son off at school when he saw the crowd rushing up the subway stairs. At least two people had visible injuries to their legs.
“It was crazy,” Mastrogiorgio told The Associated Press. “No one knew what was going on.”
Allan Lee was running his business, Café Nube, when half a dozen police cars converged on the street.
“They started evacuating people on this block and the next block, and they closed off access to the subway” near the cafe’s entrance, Lee said.
