From a year-on-year perspective, the prices of eight categories of goods and services all showed an upward trend. Among them, the prices of education, culture and entertainment, which had the highest increase, rose by 5.5%, followed by food, tobacco and alcohol, with prices rising by 4.2%; the prices of health care, which had the smallest increase, rose by 5.5%. 0.4%.

From a month-on-month perspective, the prices of eight categories of goods and services were “five liters, two levels and one drop”. In April, affected by the rising costs of raw materials and transportation, flour manufacturers raised their ex-factory prices. The monitored prices of high-gluten flour and medium-gluten flour rose to varying degrees. The average prices of high-gluten flour and medium-gluten flour rose by 8.5% and 6.1% respectively. Affected by factors such as the epidemic and the rise in international crude oil prices, it has become more difficult to transport seasonal fruits such as watermelons, and logistics and transportation costs have risen.

From February to March this year, the pork market was in sufficient supply, consumer demand decreased seasonally, and pork prices continued to decline. In April, pork prices bottomed out and prices rose. The average price of pork ribs, pork belly and pork ham of the main monitored pork varieties increased by 4.7%, 2.3% and 2.1% respectively from the previous month, driving the price of pork to increase month-on-month.

As the weather warms, the supply of seasonal vegetables increases and market prices drop. The prices of the 24 kinds of fresh vegetables monitored were “14 down, 1 level and 9 up” from the previous month. Among them, 6 kinds of vegetables, such as beans, leeks, and cucumbers, dropped significantly, ranging from 20.9% to 28.6%; tomatoes dropped by 10.3%; 7 kinds of vegetables, such as eggplant and green onions, dropped by 0.1% to 8.3%; the price of soybean sprouts unchanged; 9 kinds of vegetables such as pumpkin and winter melon rose between 0.7% and 22.8%.

In April, non-food prices in Xi’an rose by 2.5% year-on-year, affecting 2.09 percentage points of CPI growth; it rose by 0.3% month-on-month, affecting 0.27 percentage points of CPI growth.

Affected by the rise in international bulk commodity prices, the production cost of industrial consumer goods has increased, some manufacturers have raised their ex-factory prices, and the terminal sales prices in shopping malls have also risen. The prices of vacuum cleaners, water heaters, stoves, washing machines, air conditioners, water purifiers, and small kitchen appliances rose by 9.5%, 7.4%, 5.3%, 5.2%, 3.5%, 3.1% and 3.0% year-on-year, respectively, driving the price of household appliances year-on-year. An increase of 3.6%, affecting the CPI up 0.05 percentage points.

In April, affected by the rise in international crude oil prices, domestic refined oil prices rose, gasoline and diesel prices rose by 2.9% and 3.0% month-on-month respectively, driving the price of transportation fuels to rise by 2.7% month-on-month.

Affected by factors such as the May Day holiday and the warming climate, residents’ travel demand has increased, and the prices of some airline routes and travel agency routes have increased.
