Pittsburgh offered Malkin and Letang contracts for 3 years with a cap-hit of $5 million, Crosby was unhappy.

Insider Rob Rossi reported that Pittsburgh made offers of new contracts to the striker Evgeni Malkin and defender Chris Letangwho can become unrestricted free agents.

Both veterans were offered pay cut agreements for 3 years with a $5 million caphit.

Under the current contract, the average salary of Malkin is 9.5 million dollars, Letang – 7.25.
