The death toll from the collapse of the Metropole building in the Iranian city of Abadan has risen to 24

The death toll from the collapse of a 10-storey building in southwestern Iran has risen to 24, following it was announced that five more bodies had been recovered.

Parts of the large “Metrobel” building, located on Amiri Street in the city of Abadan, southwestern Iran, collapsed. Several rescue teams from different cities are responsible for this operation, while search teams have so far found 24 bodies under the rubble and transferred them to Abadan University of Medical Sciences to identify their owners.

In this context, 37 citizens have been rescued from the rubble so far, and were taken to city hospitals for treatment, and most of them returned to their homes following treating their light injuries.
