Strawenger (Norway): Former India world champion Viswanathan Anand defeated Norway’s world champion Magnus Carlsen.
Carlson lost to Anand in the seventh round of the Norwegian Blitz Chess. Anand finished fourth after losing to Anisha Giri of the Netherlands and Maximi Vachir Lagrave of France. Ten players participated in Blitz Chess.
Anand started by defeating Norway’s Aryan Tari. She also defeated veteran Vaseline Topalov in the third round. Anand suffered a setback when he drew with Timur Rajdabo. After losing to Giri, China’s Hao Wang drew level.
