The maximum leader of the Second Marquetalia, alias Iván Márquez, would have been killed in Venezuelaaccording to versions of sources who are in that country and who know closely the activities of that criminal group, dissident of the Farc.

According to such reports, Marquez would have fallen in the middle of the confrontation that the ‘Second Marquetalia’ holds with other criminal groups for the control of drug trafficking routes on the border with Colombia.
In fact, one of the first hypotheses that began to be investigated is whether it was a retaliation for the death of ‘Gentil Duarte’, in May, head of the dissidence that is at war with the group of aliases Iván Marquez.
