Tunis: In Tunisia, where the political crisis continues, the Tunisian court has frozen the bank accounts of politicians associated with the Annahda party, including Annahda party leader and former speaker Rashid Ghannoushi. The accounts of President Qais Saeed’s main opponents, Ghannoushi, his son Muad, former Prime Minister Hamadi Jabali and former Foreign Minister Rafiq Abdus Salam were frozen.
Qais Saeed ousted the government last July, freezing the Annahda-dominated parliament led by Ghannoushi and seizing power. Last week, Saeed released the draft constitution to hold a referendum on July 25, the anniversary of his seizure of power.
