This record amount since the liberalization of the industry in 1991 is up 54% compared to the result of the previous campaign when it had reached 560 million dollars. This performance is explained by a rise in the price of the product on the international market and, to a lesser extent, by a 3% increase in volume to 6.26 million bags.
In August 2021, the monthly exported stock crossed the 700 mark000 bags of coffee, a first in the history of the sector.
The main destinations for Ugandan coffee have been the European Union, the United States, Morocco, and India.
Uganda is the world’s 4th largest producer of robusta coffee.
