Wall Street opens its session lower

US stock indexes opened lower on Monday following a strong rally last week amid optimism over earnings, with investors awaiting factory activity data following similar surveys from China and the eurozone fueled recession fears.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell at the beginning of trading 0.43%, or 17.91 points, to 4112.38 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.59% by 72.73 points to 12,317.96 points at the opening.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.27%, or 89.42 points, to 32,755.71 points at the open.
