In Morocco, the outstanding public debt continues its upward trend with a further increase of 6.3% to 885.3 billion DH (about 86.5 billion USD) in 2021, informs the central bank in its published annual report July 29, 2022. This reflects increases of 7.7% to 681.5 billion in its domestic component and 2% to 203.8 billion dirhams in the external component. For its part, the ratio of direct public debt to GDP posted a decline of 3.3 points to 68.9% with declines of 1.8 percentage points to 53.1% of GDP debt.
