BBC Extra: What memories do some have of cinemas?
Statistics published by ComScore, which tracks cinema revenues, revealed that ticket box sales in the United States, France and Germany are two-thirds of what they were before the Corona epidemic, while the percentage is even lower in Spain and Italy.
In the Arab countries, the number of cinemas has decreased over the decades, and some link this decline to a preference for watching films that are broadcast on electronic platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. Hala Saleh admits in this report that she watches movies less in cinemas than before, so she looks for loyal movie fans who still go to her.
