How are varicose veins formed?
Muhammad explained that the veins contain small one-way valves, which are responsible for the passage of oxygen-laden blood and prevent it from flowing backward.
The consultant cardiologist added that the weakness of the valves makes them unable to perform their vital function properly, which leads to the blood leaking backwards, and then collecting it in the veins of the legs.

Leg clot: because varicose veins impede the smooth flow of oxygenated blood in the blood vessels feeding the lower extremities.
Pulmonary embolism: If a leg clot travels through the bloodstream to the artery supplying the lungs.
Venous ulcers.
