Russia kills 200 Ukrainian soldiers in attack on train station
Russia has claimed to have killed more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers in an attack at Chaplin train station. In Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region on Wednesday (Aug 24), the Ukrainian side claimed the deaths of 25 Ukrainians, including children.
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday (Aug 25) it was the result of an Iskander missile strike that hit a military train at Chaplin Station. As a result, more than 200 Ukrainian military reservists were killed. and 10 more munitions units were destroyed. It also claimed that the attacked military train was heading for the battlefield in the Donbas region that Russia wanted to conquer entirely.
The European Union (EU) has condemned the attack on the Ukrainian railway station as a “brutal act”. It took place as Ukraine celebrated Independence Day and marked the sixth anniversary of Russia’s war of invasion of Ukraine. He warned that Russia would be held accountable for such actions.
The EU’s head of foreign policy, Josep Borrell, said the EU strongly condemns Russia’s brutal attacks on civilians. It did not say exactly how responsible Russia would be responsible for the brutal attacks.
