Court orders a romp in the Prosecutor’s Office and a merit contest for 17 thousand positions

The Administrative Court of Cundinamarca ordered the prosecution take steps to name 17 thousand people by merit contest.

For the Court, the Prosecutor’s Office must immediately hire a firm to make a public contest of merits to occupy 17 thousand positions, of which many of them are occupied by free appointment.

As explained from the Court to Noticentro 1 CM&, those who arrive must have the best scores and be the most suitable and trained for each position.

The Prosecutor’s Office raised with the Court that a contest might not be opened for such a high number of officials, to which the corporation said that there is a mechanism to open the call.

In its decision, the Court sentenced directors of the Prosecutor’s Office with fines.

The decision is immediately enforceable, however it will be reviewed by the Council of State.
