Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) won the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano. He thus celebrated his fourth consecutive victory in MotoGP and reduced the gap in the overall standings.
The leader of the world championship, the French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), had to settle for 5th place in the race. The defending champion now has a 30-point lead over his Italian competitor, who has been in great shape for a few weeks.
‘Pecco’ Bagnaia, starting from the second row on his Ducati, made a great start and took advantage of an error by his teammate Jack Miller, who started on pole, to quickly take control. He remained in the lead until the end despite the return of his compatriot Enea Bastianini (Ducati-Gresini), 2nd. The Spaniard Maverick Vinales (Aprilia) completed the podium.
