The Russian authorities have included Meta Platforms, Inc.* in the list of terrorists and extremists. At the same time, as human rights activist Pavel Chikov reported on his Telegram channel, the prosecutor’s office began sending warnings to Facebook* and Instagram* users regarding the inadmissibility of extremist activity.

As two lawyers explained to E1.RU at once, nothing changes for users of banned social networks: there are no penalties for publishing posts. Andrey Klishas, a member of the Federation Council, confirmed this at the state level.
