Two films from Malayalam have entered the international competition section of the 27th Kerala International Film Festival organized by the Kerala State Film Academy. Nanpakal Neerath Mayakkum directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery starring Mammootty and Mahesh Narayanan starring Kunchacko Boban in the lead role.
12 films have been featured in the Malayalam Cinema Today category. Sanalkumar Sasidharan’s Fight, Thamar KV’s Thousand and One Lies, Amal Prasi’s Leftovers, Kamal KM’s Pata, Pratish Prasad’s Normal, Aravind H’s Drate Depression, Raarish G’s Hounds and Runners, Siddhartha Shiva’s, Satish Babusenan and Santosh Babusenan’s Husband, Wife and Two Dead Children, The films are Priyanandanan TR’s Dhabari Kyuruvi, Akhil Anilkumar, Kunhila Masilamani, Francis Lewis, Geo Baby and Jithin Isaac Thomas’ anthology film Freedom Fight and Indu VS’s 191A. The films were selected by a committee headed by director R Sarath and comprising Jeeva KJ, directors Sherry, Ranjith Shankar and Anuraj Manohar.
Nankakal Neerath Mayakam is the Mammootty film that the audience is eagerly waiting for. The release date of the film is yet to be announced. Mahesh Narayanan’s Kunchacko Boban movie announcement will be coming on Netflix.
