Feigned labor pains during the flight and made an emergency landing; 28 passengers escaped

Barcelona: 28 passengers escaped from a plane that was made to land on the pretense that a pregnant woman was in labor. The incident took place at the Barcelona airport in Spain. The passengers fled as soon as the plane landed. 14 people, including a pregnant woman, have been detained by the Spanish police. Officials said they are searching for the rest of the passengers who entered the country illegally.

At 4:30 a.m. local time, a pregnant woman was informed that labor pains had begun on a Pegasus Airlines flight from Casablanca, Morocco to Istanbul. The passenger also requested an immediate landing of the flight in Barcelona. When the plane landed, an ambulance and three police patrols reached the spot to take the pregnant woman down. Meanwhile, a group of 28 people escaped. Five of those detained have been sent back to Istanbul.

‘The woman was taken to the Saint John de Due Hospital for examination and she was found to have no signs of labour. Spanish media reported that he was arrested after his discharge on charges of obstructing travel and disturbing public life. Spain did not say from which country the people who tried to enter the country were from.

This is the second such incident in a year. Earlier, a passenger made an emergency landing in Spain citing ill health and a crew of six disembarked.
