Australian Open: Tsitsipas, Azarenka in semis; Sania-Bopanna alliance in the semi-finals Australian Open: Sania-Bopanna in the semi-finals

Melbourne: Greece’s Stefano Tsitsipas and Russia’s Karen Khachanov in the Australian Open tennis men’s semi-finals. Tsitsipas reached the last four following defeating Jiri Lecheka of the Czech Republic 6-3, 7-6, 6-4.

Khachanov reached the semi-finals by beating the young player of the US, Sebastian Korda. Korda suffered a finger injury in the third set following falling two sets behind. Score: 7-6, 6-3, 3-0. In the women’s category, Victoria Azarenka of Belarus reached the semi-finals following ten years. Azarenka beat US third seed Jessica Pegula 6-4, 6-1.

Wimbledon winner and Kazakhstan star Elena Rybakina also saw the semis. Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia was defeated in the quarter. 6-2, 6-4.

India’s Sania Mirza-Rohan Bopanna pair reached the semi-finals in mixed doubles. The Indian alliance got a walkover once morest Yelena Ostapenko-David Hernandez. In men’s doubles, Bopanna was eliminated in the first round and in women’s doubles, Sania was eliminated in the second round.
