Forward Bo Horvat has signed an eight-year contract with the New York Islanders.
He was traded to the Islanders by the Vancouver Canucks on January 30.
Horvat has yet to play an official game in his new uniform, but he represented the team at the All-Star Game festivities this weekend, along with forward Brock Nelson and goaltender Ilya Sorokin .
He will make his debut for the Isles on Monday against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The 27-year-old has 31 goals and 23 assists in 49 games with the Canucks this season, his ninth in the NHL. He ranks second in the league in faceoff appearances (1,116) and is 56 percent efficient.
Horvat was drafted by the Canadian squad ninth overall at the 2013 auction.
