Thiès, Feb 8 (APS) – The Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy, Moussa Bocar Thiam, underlined, on Wednesday in Thiès, the urgency and the need to clean up the media sector with a rigorous application of the national press card.

“The State of Senegal will rigorously ensure the application of the national press card which is fundamental to cleaning up the sector. It is an obligation to present this card in order to be able to exercise the profession of journalist or media technician”, said he declared to Thiès on the sidelines of a meeting with the actors of the local press.

According to the Minister, the journalist profession is polluted, which makes the work of the traditional media difficult.

“We have reached the red line, we must put an end, in consensus and in discussion, to this disorganization to improve the quality of service of the media”, he underlined.
