The Minsk city court sentenced Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, a former presidential candidate in Belarus, to 15 years in prison in absentia.
>< reports that the court found the politician guilty of treason, attempting to seize power by force, and creating an extremist group and leading it.
It should be noted that the state prosecutor wanted Tikhanovskaya to be sentenced to 19 years in prison.
