Finland will officially become the 31st member of NATO this Tuesday. This is the country’s reaction to the Russian aggression once morest Ukraine. While NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg spoke of a “historic day”, Russia announced “countermeasures”. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu warned that Finland’s entry into NATO and the increased combat readiness of the alliance would increase the risk of a conflict.
