“My neighbor gets carried away when our washing machine runs at 9.30pm but I don’t see the problem.”

Living next to noisy neighbors is not a pleasant experience. Between the musical vibrations, the meowing cat, the smells of food or the humming and untimely awakenings, there are good reasons to complain. And often, the reactions can be mind-blowing.

A man who preferred to remain anonymous confides in the behavior of his neighbors. They would have harassed him with text messages for noises, deemed “ridiculous”. Light on this unusual news item!

He lived in this building for more than 10 years. The man claimed to have never had any problems with his previous neighbours. Yet he was surprised at the reaction of his new neighbors.

Every week, he received text messages regarding certain household chores or his pet. His neighbors would have asked him not to do the laundry in the evening and not to let his dog use his toys anymore. In a post on Reddit, he explains how “ridiculous” their complaints had become. The man who preferred to remain anonymous said: “I received a message in the followingnoon asking me to stop the dog from jumping and playing with some rubber balls. Admittedly, their request was weighted so I removed them,” he said. A few days later the same thing happened but this time with tennis balls (it was during the day)”. A week later, the latter receives similar complaints. He was blamed for “hit or run” when a friend visited him that day with her dog who moved, quite naturally, around the house. According to him, she left at 8 p.m., and the complaint should not take place!

Over time, the requests followed one another and the man continued to receive absurd text messages. They would have texted him to stop his dog from barking. In reality, that evening, she had reacted to an outside noise. And the man claims in a publication that he kept her in his room to discourage her from doing so. It had worked! Another surprise: a message from his neighbors asking him not to start the machine at 9:30 p.m. A week later, he receives another text asking him to bring the laundry up an hour. Ironically, that night their dog started barking but the man preferred to keep quiet. But didn’t he have any choice but to take it upon himself?

Anyway, some netizens sided with him. They believe that he should not bend to their every whim. “They seem very sensitive to noise. But that’s their problem. They are indeed entitled to hours of peace, but you should also simply ignore their messages,” one commented.

Faced with “unbearable” neighbors, you have to know how to keep calm. Yes, it is first the first thing to do before freaking out. But to inspire sympathy, there is nothing like introducing yourself to your neighbors to maintain a cordial relationship. And why not invite them to your home. And sometimes, it is enough to offer help with the maintenance of the accommodation. It’s always better than blaming others for not making an effort! And instead of picking up your phone to send a flurry of complaints or calling the police station for a tiny noise nuisance, it’s best to knock on their door to calmly explain to them the inconvenience they’re causing you. So there’s no need to create stories at the risk of further aggravating the situation. Because following all, communication and common sense are the guarantee of good neighbourliness!
